Can you believe how beautiful our autumn days are?

I love the way the light slices through the trees in the early hours, sometimes diffused in the ground fog. The pumpkins and gourds like it too — we have such a healthy crop!

The U-pick gourds fields are just laden! It makes for fun harvesting. Small children especially enjoy the different shapes and colors. Gourds you pick off the vines are six for $1. And if you don’t want to pick your own, choose from the ones we’ve picked and washed, at three for $1.

While you’re here, you’ve GOT to see the bursting mums! Some are in full bloom, some are still budding. Watch for the Montauk Daisies — they are just starting to open and have  quite unusual foliage,  almost leather looking, very hardy.
