Weatherwise, this was the mildest year ever, only a few cood days, no mud. Our combining is also finished. Barn cleaning is almost complete, then preparations for next year.
It’s always fun to see our customers that come year after year. New people found us too and assured us they will be back. They liked our relaxed atmosphere.
You can find us at Kansas City Rivermarket on Sat., Nov. 5th. Our truck is loaded with winter squash, cooking pumpkins, gourds, Bittersweet, Indian Corn and large dried gourds for crafting.
Grandma Ding is making fudge today for market on Sat., Pumpkin Pie Fudge with pecans, Caramel Apple Pie Fudge, plus the regulars, chocolate pecan, Black Walnut Peanut Butter/Choc and many more.
Thanks to all that came to see us, see you next year.

It’s hard to believe, but Hallowe’en is almost with us! This month and this season have zoomed by.
Now in the early mornings, the fields are hidden in mists. The cooler days have the kittens jumping around like crazed creatures, then cuddling up in patch of sunshine — hard to resist. In the afternoon, the light slants so dramatically through the trees with their brilliant colors.
We have plenty of pumpkins, ready for your creative touch in carving or painting.
You’ll also find a grand selection and variety of gourds, in all shapes and sizes.
Plus loads and loads of Indian corn, sorghum, bittersweet and so many other decorative items.
We hope to see you soon!
From summer clothes to coats and gloves, the weather changes fast in Missoiuri.
Fall is in the air. Leaves are falling and blowing, Black Walnuts are dropping. A frost blanketed some areas this morning, no worry though, the pumpkins are just fine. There are still many pumpkins in our U-Pick patches. Our Mums are even more brilliant after a bit of frost.
Pumpkin Pie Fudge, Apple Pie Fudge, Black Walnut Fudge and other flavors are waiting for you at our barn.
It’s been such fun at the barn this season!
We have a few surprises in store for you. If you’re looking for autumn decorations or fun decor for your Halloween party, you can select from a wide variety of options here. Consider:
- Full size stalks of sorghum
- Bundles of Indian corn
- A cornucopia of mini pumpkins and gourds
- Bunches of vibrant bittersweet
- Painted gourds and pumpkins
While you’re here, be sure to check out our supply of local honey and, of course, Grandma Ding’s fudge!
Kids have been having a great time here, running around the fields, playing in the maze and climbing on the hay bales. It’s great to see the little ones exploring and laughing in the fields, and picking out their favorite pumpkins.
One of my near-daily delights is seeing the little ones who invariably pick a pumpkin about half their own size!
Come visit! We’d love to see you here.
Can you believe how beautiful our autumn days are?
I love the way the light slices through the trees in the early hours, sometimes diffused in the ground fog. The pumpkins and gourds like it too — we have such a healthy crop!
The U-pick gourds fields are just laden! It makes for fun harvesting. Small children especially enjoy the different shapes and colors. Gourds you pick off the vines are six for $1. And if you don’t want to pick your own, choose from the ones we’ve picked and washed, at three for $1.
While you’re here, you’ve GOT to see the bursting mums! Some are in full bloom, some are still budding. Watch for the Montauk Daisies — they are just starting to open and have quite unusual foliage, almost leather looking, very hardy.
We’re here everyday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with free admission. We hope to see you soon!

Yes, it’s time to visit Pumpkins Etc!
We are enjoying the beautiful days of Indian Summer, and we’re filling our barn with all the wonderful decorations of the season.
It’s a perfect time to bring your family for a stroll in the tallgrass maze, to pick your own pumpkins and to be dazzled by the 42 varieties of bloomin’ mums. Your club or organization can sell mums as a fundraiser.
Kathy and Bill Wright
Admission is free.
We also welcome groups! It’s great fun for classes of schoolkids.
